[Rainmeter Skin] “Girls of Otaku-dom”

What my Desktop looks like with it.
(Keep in mind that is my wallpaper that is blue)
This is my very first rainmeter skin. I went all out with it. When you open the skin, it will start out as a Haruhi-theme and its total dimensions should be 900x700. If it isn’t, then your resolution is probably in the wrong here. Side note: I probably won't release another one for a while.
There are a total of eight themes:

The Konata (Lucky Star) Theme.
Time spent: 30+ hours.
Date started: 07/19/11
Date officially finished: 07/23/11
Feelings on this: Accomplished something in life.
*©All images used belong to their respective owners. I do not own any of the files respectively, merely editing, and using them accordingly without claiming any as my own. Thus, it is up to the user to do as they please.

Top to bottom of the buttons on the right side:
CPU Usage -[Lucky Star] Konata Izumi.
RAM -[Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya] Haruhi Suzumiya.
Swap -[Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica] Charlotte (Fan-Made Depiction, along with the icon characters, too)
D/L -[K-ON!] Mio Akiyama
U/L -[Ookami San to Shichinin no Nakamatachi] Ryouko Ookami[-san]
C:\ Space Left (Main Drive) -[Touhou] Patchouli Knowledge
D:\ Space Left (Recovery) -[Touhou] Suwako Moriya
K:\ My 2TB Drive -[Touhou] Marisa Kirasame

If you’d like the character names for the icons, either try to google it yourself, or ask me via comment/post, email, or some way.

BEFORE you start criticizing me for anything, let me go through a bit with you:
  • I just started Rainmeter with no idea what was going on. I just logically figured the variables out by “studying” other peoples’ Anime-Skins.
  • I am not a Photoshop pro. I use Photoshop CS4 if you’d like to know, and I took like, one or two classes without paying much attention. I know the basics are all.
  • The images I used were mostly from the ones I already had. Thus, no sources for the lot of them.
  • In a sense, I don’t know the first thing about Rainmeter. So there are faults and bugs I missed or could not fix. For the most part, I tried.

Short guide:
As you may have thought from the beginning; There's lots of buttons. To better understand these buttons, click them to find out what they do. However, the bottom four/five buttons (icons) can have a purpose, or none at all. It’s up to you, really.

Applying purposes for the buttons
Open the "Girls of Otaku-dom_v3.ini" file, hit Ctrl+F, enter these 5 characters: Path1 into the Find field. After the equal sign (=) is where you'll enter the URL of the program you're going to replace it with so the format should look like this: "C:\Games\Photoshop.exe"
(Ex. Right click an icon of an exe file, hit Properties, and Ctrl+C the Target)
Do the same with the other four paths.*
(Note, the buttons are not limited to programs. Folders, files, etc. all work)

This is the Walkthrough of the icons no matter what theme*
Path1 = Farthest Left
Path2 = Left
Path3 = Right
Path4 = Farthest Right
Path5 = Top of Pause+Play Button *[ONLY for Touhou Themes]*

Changing the 3rd Drive
If you by any chance have an external drive, or extra internal, I don’t know, then here’s how to change it. Do the same thing as above. Click Ctrl+H in the .ini file, type in K:\ for “Find” and paste or type in the correct name for the drive for “Replace.”

Changing to a different Mio
I ended up with three images for Mio, so I figured "I might as well leave them there in case someone might want to use them. So here's a short edit to do if you would like to switch it up.
Due to my laziness, I don't feel like making the few name changes. There's two Mios in bikinis, and one with a bass. Mioaki.png is unused, Mioaki2.png is the main one. Mioaki3.png is with the bass.

Simply open "Girls of Otaku-dom_v3.ini" followed by hitting Ctrl+H. Read the following line very carefully:
Type in " Bg4v3]" WITH the space and right bracket included for "Find" field. Type in " Bg4v1]" or " Bg4v2]" with the space and bracket included for "Replace as" field. No quotation marks for either, though.

Known bug(s)
I will be updating this accordingly.
I’d appreciate it if anyone who finds bugs or can fix bugs contact me somehow. Either comment/post here or email me.
  • [Minor] The Time/Date/TimeUp Message will not appear if music from WinAmp is playing. However, if you click the Speech bubble while music is playing, it will stop showing the music playing, and show the time instead.
  • [Minimal] Even if you leave it up, and keep settings at default, it will not start up with rainmeter like other skins would.
  • [Minimal] Sometimes skin will shut rainmeter down due to overworking or something of the like (meaning, don’t click the skin 10 times every damn second).
  • [Minimal] Hard to explain, but two of the icons that lay on the BGI image will both be highlighted at once.
Let’s get the dates [close to] right:
[06/23/11] - Started using Rainmeter on my main PC, while I’ve used it longer on my crappy PC.
[07/18/11] - First felt like making a skin.
[07/19/11] - Actually began my skin.
[07/21/11] - Finished the skin.
[07/23/11] - Added plenty of thing to skin. Now completed indefinitely.
The Patchouli (Touhou - Game Series) Theme.

Credentials*:
Thanks Axeraider70 (deviantart)
  1. Unique and amazingly beautiful brushes.
  2. Sharing more than I even used.
Thanks Kazasou (randomnessthing.net)
  1. Basic Winamp player buttons (I was tired of Photoshop, already)
  2. Codes from other skins you have released. (Mainly the Haruhi one)
  3. Plentiful of skins that eventually helped me better understand Rainmeter.
WINGMARE (Hongfire)
  1. Your overall skin idea of HexGirls.
  2. Releasing HexGirls, since I figured out how to make interchangable images from your HexGirls skin. (How each Hexagon changed the image)
  3. [Though my skin turned completely different, I started with something that resembled HexGirls a bit, and used the code for it originally. I ended up changing and reorganizing almost everything.]
Xcyz (xcyzbreathesmoe.wordpress.com)
  1. Editing [http://sk2b.hp.infoseek.co.jp/]'s original skin.
  2. [I did not use the skin at all, but I attempted to use it as a basis.Even though I failed, I still appreciate it.]
Owari (deviantart)
  1. The wonderful Lucky Star Image I used for buttons.
Neri Gozu (source undefined)
  1. Your beautiful human depiction of the witches from Mahou Shoujou Madoka Magica. They're lovely.
Other Scanners, Authors, Artists, & Companies
  1. Providing amazingly wonderful images.
  2. Sharing them on the 'net.
  3. Having amazing hands and eyes for Anime/Manga/Art.
  4. [I hope it's obvious enough that I did not create any of the images. I simply took the original jpeg or png file I had on my computer from bunches of different sources and [terribly] cut them out in photoshop. Mostly with Quick Select, not Mask, which would explain the faults it has.]
You
  1. Taking the time to read this, or even scroll&stop this far down.
  2. If you, the user happen to share this file, I would appreciate it if you DO NOT delete any of the files, especially the .txt files.
  3. Also, I would also appreciate it if you credit me upon sharing.
