Left to Right: Shun Matsuoka, Kaname Tsukahara, Yuuki Asaba, Yuuta Asaba. |
Yes, I did enjoy it. No, it was not boring or dull. This Anime literally had me laughing out loud for the most part with their teenage humor. It was great.
The story basically revolves around the five main characters (last one is a blonde named Chizuru) and their daily lives. The first and second season follow their lives in their late high school years. Sounds dull, but it really isn't. The calming feel of the series is definitely what makes this series so good.
I'll make my reviews short and sweet from now on:
- Season Count: 1
- Episode Count: 13 each. 26 total.
- Presentation/Appearance ─ 4/5
- The character design, artwork, and animation could use a little work. It reminds me of the artwork from Hourou Musuko (The Wandering Son). While for me, the presentation and appearance is the main reason for a decent Anime, plot/story can make it all the more worthwhile. In this case, the animation was not half-bad, but everything else made up for whatever animation/artwork was lacking.
- Characters ─ 5/5
- The characters felt real; they felt like they were people. Each character made decisions and choices based on their personalities.
- Plot/Story/Genre (Slice of Life Comedy) ─ 5/5
- It's just like any other decent-to-good slice-of-life Anime: it incorporated the comedy and drama of life. Especially since childhoods and friendships play a large role in this.
- Music/Sound ─ 4/5
- The BGM is decent, but the way they had the opening theme's opening play into the scenes at the beginning of episodes made it great. Not to mention the opening theme is very calming, but also sort of portentous... in a sense. Very vague sense.
- Final Verdict ─ Unbiased 4/5
- Overall, this series is really good. There are plenty of series like this that allow you to feel the characters. You know, feel sad when they characters are sad, feel happy when they are, etc. No, not feel for them, but like, feel with them. Whatever. Just watch it.
In conclusion, Kimi to Boku. incorporates more plausible situations than most Anime do in it. More that people can relate to, as well (mainly teenagers, I suppose). The characters think of things teenagers would think of, they go through experiences one would, and they also learn new things as their lives progress.
There isn't much else I could say, except that I love Shun-chan:
There isn't much else I could say, except that I love Shun-chan:
Shun is the feminine guy in the group. I feel like I can relate to him more. Plus, isn't he just adorable? Even with his hair up in a lil' bun. ♥ |
